Maddie's Trip to New York

We were very excited to have Maddie back in Room 1 today!  She has been away on an amazing adventure.  She wrote a journal while she was travelling and she brought it in to share with us today.  We loved listening to her travel stories and learning lots about America.

Maddie told us about some differences between New York and New Zealand
  • They drive on the other side of the road
  • Their light switches are upside down.
  • American money is different.  They have a penny and dime and also $1 bills.

Room 1 Garage Sale!

What a great end to the term!  We used our Maths learning about money to go shopping at our very own Room 1 Garage Sale.
We had to work out how much money we had, choose what we wanted to buy and then work out the total of our purchases to see if we had enough money.  Some of us had money left at the end to buy even more things!
